Class of 2009

Yippee! We have finally finished school. Its been a joyous journey taking classes at the University of Utah. Both Braden and I find learning to be so enjoyable. We have enjoyed the experiences and the life long lessons that we have learned and are ecstatic in beginning a new life that is proving to bring us even more happiness.

Braden is loving his new job at Walgreens and couldn't be any happier. It was definitely worth the wait of finding the perfect job. I admire Braden for his patience in such a long job search. It amazes me what can happen when you turn your life over to the Lord and let him guide you and direct you. Braden loves the work that is doing, his co-workers have been wonderful, and he is thrilled to be working for a company who continually helps their employees become better. Congratulations Braden on Graduating and on finding your dream job!

As for me, I am just beginning in the job search. It has always been a dream of mine to become a teacher. Its hard to believe that that dream is about to come true. I am truly blessed to have parents who helped me see, at a young age, my innate abilities in being a teacher. With the help of many, countless I am sure, I have been able to cultivate those skills and improve upon them. I know that I will find a teaching job that will be the perfect fit for me. Until then I will be patient and continue learning all that I can. Thank you to all of those who have helped us accomplish our dreams. We know we couldn't have done it without you!

Date Night

Braden and I had a fun Date Night. We went to this really cute restaurant up in Bountiful, Utah. We had a coupon out of our happenings book and decided to try it out. It was called Sego Lily Cafe. It is an old house they turned into an elegant fine dinning restaurant. This restaurant is unique and had some amazing food. Braden order some good babequed meat. They make their own barbeque sauce that has delicious apple sauce that they made it their own smoke house. If they put their barbeque sauce in jars and sold it we would definitely buy it by the case.

After we ate dinner, we went a couple blocks away to where Grandma Crockett lives. She lives at a great place called the Bountiful Legacy Home. Here is a picture of where she lives! We enjoy visiting with her and have a good time hearing the exciting things that happen in her life. She loves to play bingo and the home she lives at. Everytime she wins they give her a candy bar. She is diebetic and can't eat them. She puts them in the freezer until someone comes to visit her. We got to pick out our favorite kinds to take home with us. We love Grandma!

After visiting with Grandma Crockett we walked outside to the Bountiful Chalk Art Festival. It went for several blocks down main street out in front of the tabernacle and post office. It was had some very talented people working on master pieces. It was fun to see them all. We choose a few of our favorites and took pictures of them.

Welcome to Bountiful!

Katie's favorite picture. Honest Abe.
Braden's favorite picture of Superman.
This one we took for my Dad to see. He loves patriotic things and loves eagles because of his scouting background. We too are proud to be an american!
We liked this picture. There is alot of kid in us still. We are excited for the movie to come out in October. We love Where the Wild Things Are!

Braden's New Job

Since graduating in December last year I've been on the hunt for a full-time job. After sifting through tons of job postings, sending countless resumes and getting a handful of interviews, I was hired at Walgreens to be an Assistant Manager.
I started training the beginning of last week in Salt Lake, and Saturday I begin working at the South Ogden Walgreens. I love it. Its a good company that is continuing to grow, and I feel very good about working for "the pharmacy America trusts."
Eventually I'll quit working at FedEx, but for a while I'm trying the two-job thing. I need to wait for benefits to kick in, and I'm able to get benefits through FedEx, so I want to hold on to that as long as I can.
Thanks to everybody who prayed for me in my job search and interviews. I know it helped a lot.
